We are updating our NAV_2009 classic client to NAV_2016 RTC client. Currently, our Navision classic clients is installed with Citrix for the entire company.

Can anyone tell me what is the best practice to install NAV_20016 in our company (150 Users)?

For example should we use Click one?If yes why?

or should we use Citrix installation? If yes Why?

other methods?

Ps: Please keep in mind that we update our Navision client each month at least one time  (Keep our client up to date with Navision Cumulative Updates)

Agreed. On your second question, ClickOne does not cost you anything. (Dynamics NAV Demo image has all the powershell scripts you need to start with). You need to configure it properly. There are many tutorial videos which will help you through it.

    Hi Thranga,

I just thought Citrix would be little better coz it can over come the minor limitation of the Click one client . But i think the click once would be the winner in our case.

    Hi Alexander,

Yes there are located in different offices but within the same building. about the limitation, I took a look at them but I don't think they are that Critical?  Do you agree?

Does ClickOne cost any extra cost?

I also like ClickOnce installations, however it has a number of limitations that you should also consider (check "Limitations of ClickOnce Installed on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows Client" here: msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh997056(v=nav.90).aspx ).

Do you have those 150 users allocated in different remote offices?

    Hi M.Zayed,

I can't comment on citrix but I think Click Once is the best way to deploy NAV and had good feedback from users as well as they don't have to worry about connecting to the right server instance, updates etc. Have a look at this article to see the benefits: msdn.microsoft.com/.../deploying-microsoft-dynamics-nav-using-clickonce

I strongly suggest you to go ahead with ClickOnce installation because it allows you to control all the updates from a single point. Since you have 100+ users it is very hectic to do installation one by one after each CU update. With ClickOnce you can push the update to all the client machines with a click of a button.

Citrix : I personally do not like the idea of citrix, but it is totally my personal view. Going into the technical, I do not see any issue implementing a citrix farm with NAV. However is there any specific requirement for you to consider citrix?
