Collection process not available in collection-case

Dear all, 

I am in the midst of researching the usage of case-mgt for collections. It is very interesting and Ax2012 offers quite an extensive set of functions. So far i have been able to use the most common functions of collections and now i want to make usage of case-managment to follow-up on collection-cases accross the company. 

So far i have defined a case-category  with category-type "collections". Next i have created a very simple case process and linked it to the case-category. 

Afterwards i have created a case out of the collections detail page for a customer for a certain transaction. The case is created but the collection process is not available although specified in the setup.

When i look into the case (via \home\common\cases\all cases) and open the case, the field "case process"' is left empty. i would expect it to be prefilled with my associated case process. When i select my case-process Ax2012 throws an error:

i do not know how this is linked to the "opportunities". Anybody got an idea where i can start to look?

    with regards to the case-process: it is defined as type "case process". Should it be "sales process" perhaps?

    Hi Jo.L, 

    I tested this in a MS demo company and things worked ok.

    The previous screenprint shows the case categories used. 

    In my test, I did not receive an error message. 

    Can you please try creating similar case categories and try again?

    If you still see the error, try to talk to a developer and/or have a look at LCS to make sure that your system behavior is not related to a system bug.

    Can you confirm if you open your created case, the case process is available on your case?

    Hi Jo,

    In my environment I did not directly see it but navigated to the common module and when I opened the cases, I saw the case there.

    Have not tried with a case process yet.

    Can you check things first in the common module?

    hi Ludwig, 

    Sorry for the delay; Our Ax Test environment got renewed (Copy Prod to Test) and so Test was unavailable.

    I created again the categories and process as described but i still get the same error. I created an ticket with our applications helpdesk for support.

    Curious to find out what is causing the issue. Could be just our outdated Ax2012 R2 version off course... :(

    R2 is indeed very old.

    Have you already checked the available hotfixes on LCS?

    Would be great if you could keep us updated with the feedback that you get from your helpdesk.

    hi Ludwig,

    I have access to LCS but i am not sure if i have the necessary access or i do not know how to look for hotfixes.

    Yes, R2 is very old... i hope next year we will finally move over to D365. This version is really not supported anymore and causes too much frustration for me. :)

    i followed the instructions on how to look for fixes, but i cannot select AX2012 anymore when creating a project.

    It allows you selecting the version on the left-hand side.
