Set up no entries allowed in account structure

Hi everyone!

I'm working on a public sector project. I am setting up only one account structure with 5 dimensions. I need to configure that for certain combinations no entries are allowed.

I attach here an example

I tried to configure seg4 and seg5 as advance rules but I made some tests and budget control configuration wasn't controlling these dimensions.

Does anybody have any tips?

Hello Rony,

I understand that you have a few segments on the account structure that you would like not not allow entry. In the Account Structure there is no option to not allow a dimension. You can have a specific value, a range of values, any value or blank values.

The best option would be to use a specific value, just for that segment. I am not aware other then advanced rules, but if you are looking to use these dimnensions for budget control, as you stated this would not be an option.

Hi Jani,

Of course, this is my current configuration...

But I need to be able to control 2 other dimensions... If I use advance rules for it I don't have the option to move this dimensions to BUDGET CONTROL DIMENSIONS. And if I use these 2 dimensions in the account structure I don't know how to configure the no entry allowed option just for certain sets...

Hi Rony Rivero,

I can think of one solution here.

You create one dimension and make that suspend, after that you add that dimension in place of "no entry allowed".

It wont allow you to post because the dimension is suspended.
