Ax2009 , for beginners how to create financial report , is there any tutorial or articles might be helpful

new to reporting in AX2009 , wants to learn creating reports financial reports in AX2009,  is there any sites or tutorial out there , I can watch or read article, how to do it, that might help me to start with,  any help will be great, please send any suggestions.

 

I am not technical person.  know little bit of report writer and SSRS.

    Hi Alka

    Unfortunately, there aren't specific manuals about that.

    You can understand how work a standard report and "copy" from it.

    Alternatively, I suggest you to have a look to the Management Reporter that can be used also with Dynamics AX.

    Thanks for replying,  don't have Management Reporter, is there a way to create a financial report in G.L

    set up> financial statement , its flash report ,

    Description     Columns  

    Sales ----Month Actual -----%------   Month Budget------%---------QtyActual------%----------QtyBudget-------%  

    is this possible  ?

    All is possible in AX...

    You have to analyze in which tables you can find the informations according with your requirements.

    Then, you can use also the Report Wizard ( Tool\Development Tools\Wizards\Report wizard ) to create a draft of the report.

    I know I am asking alot of question, since I am new to this, if I will use Report wizard, that's table,  I will be using , in my report I need to use G.L acct # how can I add G.L acct in report wizard,

    for example

    Sales   -------Month Actual -----%------   Month Budget------%---------QtyActual------%----------QtyBudget-------%

    Third Party Sales --- ----  

    Cust Service----------

    Sales Discount---

    Net Sales -------

    these are the amount I need to pull from G.L acct. for monthly, and budget,   if I use table , I think its not going to help, table will give me all the acct # , I think,  I am not sure, since I am not familiar with this,

    can you please suggest, what's the right way to go by to accomplish this.

    or what other option I have .

    Hi Denis

    for example

    Regular product Revenue G.L acct Range 4100..4400

    Customer service Revenue G.L range        4200- 4300

    I want these revenue show separate line item in the report.

    how can I accomplish this ?

    how would I add these range in Report wizard  because report Report Wizard created by table.

    unless I am missing something here, as I said earlier, I am totally new to this,

    how can I get more info to create the report in AX ,

    Hi Alka

    During the Report Wizard you can choose the fields using for ranging.

    Finally, based on the range fields, you can set the filter.

    You are able to filter the records based on the table fields or is needed a join with other tables?
