    Hi,

    if you are thinking about connecting your inventory and documents in purchase with sales orders you can do this by making reservations in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

    Reservations are fixed link between supply and demand where in your case supply will be purchase order and after that inventory (when you post purchase order) and this will be linked to the sales order line.

    Renato, you didn't explain how to actually do this. Also, is there a way to allocate inventory to sales orders without first reserving it? We want our system to allocate inventory based on a first-in first-out basis.

    There is no way in the standard system without using reservations.

    Reservations are fine. Is there a global way to do this without being inside a sales order? We do hundreds of orders every day. Manually going into every sales order to reserve inventory on every line is not an option for us. We need the ability to allocate inventory on a global basis.

    You can setup automatic reservations. Then the system will always do reservation without you as a user having to think about it.
