I have a question about security permission in AX 2012 R2.

I have 1 Role "A" for groups user id. In the grid line of Sales order form. Meaning i want to security permission so that only user id which create by Sale order then only that user id can view those grid records in Sales order form. Another user id can not view.

    Hi Huy,

This is possible with the eXtended Security Policy framework. I only wonder if this is a good idea. What would happen if user 'X' created a line and then left the company? Nobody will notice the sales order lines.

What is the reason for hiding the rows? If you would apply something like this, make sure more users can see it. E.g. secure it by customer group or item group where at least two persons has access to it.

    Dear André,

    Thanks for your response

The reason for hidding is relate activity bussiness of members (user id) of Sales Department in my company. The link you gave me i tried in last time but not success. It's hard to do and i worry about it relate all system module component. Is the eXtended Security Policy framework only way ?

    Regards.

    Hi Huy,

Another way would be customizing the sales order form. But also other objects where sales information is used. XDS is the preferred way as you define a single query and using the security policy you can set also related constrained tables. In this way you have two (new) customized objects which will not affect AX for future upgrades.

    Hi Andre,

To achiieve this requirement(created user only view the records). What is the strategy need to follow?

    1. You need to create a query.

    2. create a filter on Created by & set value to 'curuserId()".

    3. Create a security policy, attach this query, specify a role.

    4. this role need to set all the users.

Could you please suggest whether I'm correct or any other better approach?

    Hi Krishna,

Some parts depends on the requirement and security roles implementation. If you don't specify a role, it will be applied to all users (except Sytem administrator).

As stated above, it would be recommended to have security not linked on the created by field, but another definition so also another users could view/edit the order in case of illness or other reasons for absence. So think of a way you can limit the users, but have a fallback option.
