Setup smtp mail

Hi all,

Pro D365 Sales, we were using a 3rd party smtp mail service for our mailing campaigns in order to avoid black list issues.

Is there a way to set this up in D365 Sales so that we use this account for our Campaigns?

The smtp service provider has no familiarity with D365 and I could use all the help I can get.

PS. Don't know if relevant, but in our previous mailing app there was a DKIM setting.

Thank you all / Efthimios

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

You can create another Email Server Profile and configure a user with this profiled. Then, this user can be used to send the Campaign Emails.

    Here are high-level steps:

    • Go to Advanced Settings -> Email Configuration -> Email Server Profiles.
    • Click on New (fly-out button) and choose POP3/SMTP Server

    • Configure the profile and Save
    • Go to Security -> Users and open the user from which you need to send Campaign Emails.
    • Click on the Mailbox and change the profile form Microsoft Exchange Online to New SMTP Profile, click on Test and Enable the Email.

Now, when you send the Campaign Email, in the from user, select this user.

    Hi Wahaj,

Will this work for existing user (already with email account)? Can his be used by multiple users or should I set it up for each one?

    Hi,

You can either associate and existing user's mailbox with SMTP profile or create a new one. Then this user can be used to send Campaign Emails. This means, before distributing Campaign Emails, users need to select this user in From.

If you change Mailbox for all users to SMTP, Dynamics 365 will send all emails from SMTP.

I believe, your requirement is to only send Campaign Emails through SMTP, so its better to use 1 user for this purpose (either existing or new).

    Thank you Wahaj!

Smtp service provider informed me that they "only need the TXT and DKIM records. These have to be added to have your domain verified with us".

How do I set this up on D365?
