Sharepoint Folders not showing on Documents Subgrid

Posted on by 215

Hello,

very often we get the request that Sharepoint Files that are related to an entity should be instantly available to users. Some accounts have files attached, some don't and it would be time saving and better if attached files show on the main tab of a form. I see this request in the Forum also quite often.

Until recently, Sharepoint Files could only be accessed, when clicking on "Related -> Documents" on a form, see screenshot.

In the new form designer we discovered, that we can add Documents now as a subgrid on the forms main tab. (See screenshot)

Anyhow, this subgrid control behaves completely different that the control that we find under "Related -> Documents" It shows all files in all child folders related to an entity.

What might be useful for others is very confusing for us. The Subgrid Control does not show Sharepoint Folder Structure, which is difficult for organizing a structure.

Does anyone have any idea, how to get Documents in a subgrid including folder structure?

Hi all we have the same issue with the document accosiated grid

We have a folder structure in sharepoint

Folder "XXXX" has been renamed or deleted from SharePoint. It was expected inside "">https://XXXX" path. Restore the folder on SharePoint and try again.

Also when we try to create a folder in CRM we get an error message

    Hello Partner,

This is how it is supposed to look by design on forms. We do not have any option to enable file structure on from level as the sub-grid on the form will directly open the files related to the entity record for viewing. All of the official documenting for adding the file sub-grid to form have the files alone as shown here as well: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/add-documents-tab-entity-main-form

    Thanks and Regards,

    Raj
