can I email customer statements Direct From Dynamics Nav2015 with out add-in

Hi all,

We recently purchased Dynamics Nav 2015 and my Managing Director did not want to take out the local support as the costs where to high. Now everything is set up and we have had our first month we now need to send out customer statements.

I have seen there are lots of 3rd-party add-ins many of them needing partners login to actually install or configure, so with this in mind is there either any open source creators such as PDF creator that I can actually code myself, or is there away to directly send customer statements from Nav?

Hopefully someone can help Me

Matt

    You have to do some customizations

    blogs.msdn.com/.../send-email-with-pdf-attachment-in-nav-2009.aspx

    Is it fine if you download the report as PDF and send manually?

    Hi Mohana,

    That is fine however I do not have a partner source or developer licence

    Hi Matt,

    Mohanna's examples are very good and relate to the latest enhancements that Microsoft brought to NAV 2015. But sadly they only deal with business and commercial documents (sales & purchase).

    To be able to send a report (for example customer statement) as an attachement there are actually 3 possibilities:

    - Either you customize the tables and create codeunits that does the job for you. There is an example in Saurav Dhyani's Blog (saurav-nav.blogspot.ch/.../send-mail-with-attachment-from-navision.html). You might need to adapt the coding as the example is based on Dynamics NAV 2009 but the table is still there in 2015;

    - Or just save the report in PDF and send it manually (but I guess this might get boring if you have a lot of statements to send);

    - Or pick an add-on from a partner (but I guess this is out of the question as I understood).

    Leaves us just with the first possibility and for that you will need a developer's license and some technical developing knowledge for Dynamics NAV 2015.

    Hope these answers were helpful for you.

    ideally the PDF output would be done as a bulk and saved to individual files.

    then you need to customize and for that require partner's license (developers)

    Hi,

    I don't think there is a standard functionality.  Some customization is required to achieve this functionality.

    I know it's not 'Direct from NAV', but I actually use Excel to do this sort of thing.

    I've created a replica of the Customer Statement, and running a macro updates the data from NAV, and sends an email with it inline rather than a PDF.

    I was going to add another macro around it to step thru each customer in turn and make it all a one button affair, but accounts want to check each statement and add a message to the beginning so it's a semi-automated solution.

    It's still an awful lot faster than - run customer statement, print to PDF, create email, attach PDF.

    The basic section is below:-

       Set Sendrng = EmailSheet.Range(EmailSheet.[A1], EmailSheet.[G19].End(xlDown))

       'Create the mail and send it

       With Sendrng

           .Select

           Emailbook.EnvelopeVisible = True

           With .Parent.MailEnvelope

               ' Set the optional introduction field thats adds some header text to the body.

               .Introduction = OutlookIntroduction

               With .Item

                   .To = OutlookAddressTO

                   .CC = OutlookAddressCC

                   .BCC = OutlookAddressBCC

                   .Subject = OutlookSubject

                   .Send

               End With

           End With

       End With
