creating General Journals error

Hi Exports,

We are getting this error message when creating a new journal under General journals: "The journal name is not valid because it is designated for Accounts receivable write offs."

Appear only on a particular journal name, was working ok and it just stop.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I assume you are using a journal which is setup as a write off journal in credit and collections module.

Kindly use a different journal than that.

HI C Wee,

Can you provide some additional details? Should this journal have the purpose to act as the write-off journal? If so, the general journal will not be the correct place to use it. If the purpose is different, check the journal name settings if someone changed the journal type.

Hi C We,

It sees that you have assigned the general journal on Account recievable paramateres > Collection > Write-off > Write-off journal:

and therefore you will get the following warning if you want to use this journal name for posting purpose than write-off

In order to resolve the issue, create a new journal for write-off journal and assigned it to customer parameters.
