Easiest way to pick stock on picking list and post

Hi

Currently we manually print the pick list and the go into it and allocate the stock to each line picking the stock from the location and batch.  This is quite time consuming when we have 3 page pick list.  We do this In 3 stages as we allocate and pick the items in stock first then as the other items are delivered into stock from suppliers we go in a allocate them one by one.  Im sure there must be an easier way to do this especially for the stock items anyone have any ideas?

many thanks

emma

    Hi Emma,

Can you explain in more details your question? I'm not able to understand what exactly how you have your process today.

The problem you have is... you need to tell AX the Location and Batch. If you update the picking list registration in real-time, when you pick the stock from the location, that would eliminate the need to write down what was picked and re-key. Unfortunately, even if you did that on a tablet device, I do not think the picking list registration form is so easy to interact with. Many companies instead opt to run handheld barcode scanners, with software which will interact with the picking list. RF Smart and AX Anywhere are two such solutions that I have heard of.

Alternatively, you could enable automatic reservation on your Sales orders. If you did this, for the items which are in stock when you create the sales order, AX would TELL YOU which location/batch to use. It means you do not need to enter it in on the picking list; its populated automatically. Unfortunately, this would not help for items which were received after the sales order was created, and you have to be happy that AX will tell you which Batches to pick, rather than the other way round.
