We have subsidiaries in different countries.
There are some differencies in the rules on how to account for things.
In D365 there are different Accounting latyers that at least in theory would support our needs.
Anyoen with experience from this?
You set your query filters like in the second screenshot above to select posting layers for the results in ASE.
Thanks a lot, again!
While we are at it, how can you use different layers in Accounting Source Explorer?
We are using Dynamics F&O.
I've never heard any issues. One client was Bermuda HQ with legal entities in the US, UK, France, Switzerland, Germany and Singapore. They've been using F&O for 5 years without issue.
Thanks, Frank!
Have you experienced any obvious issues here?
My impression is that it is a simple, yet useful way of handling it.
I have clients that use posting layers for statutory reporting purposes. You can select one or more posting layers in Trial balance and ASE
This functionality has been there from very old versions.
Not faced any issues so far using the trial balance.
Very interesting, thanks a lot.
Did you experience any issues?
I guess Trial Balance and Accounting Source Explorer are working with or without the respective layers?
I have used the functionality.
I used to post transactions if there are any postings needed like there is any difference to be reported for IFRS or company related bookings.
Thanks a lot.
Yes, I am aware of these limitations but thanks for pointing out.
Have you or anyone you know used this?
Hi,
Accounting layers are only supporting postings via journals and for GL accounts. Not for AP/AR postings etc.
The only exception is fixed assets. You can have more than one book which posts different layers.
