HI,

Good day!

Please help me if I can revalue the beginning inventory as of January 1, 2016 both its quantity and cost; even the current month is already December 2016. Just to updated the ending inventory to its audited FS,

Once year is close then you can do Physical stock take and then do the revaluation of the inventory.

Average costing can only able to revaluate whole Item Cost so you need to check your inventory and cost before doing revaluation.

If the revaluation journal cannot execute as of January 2016 to correct the beginning inventory as per audited. It seems that the costing is also incorrect, currently the company using average method. The cost of sales appearing the Navision is incorrect because the beginning inventory it not in proper unit cost.

I don't think so that is right way as at the end of year 2016 your inventory and its cost will also change ,due to this unit cost will also change. For revaluation you need to either stop the processes and then do the revaluation of inventory. Run the Adjust cost batch job before and after revaluation journal.
