Microsoft Azure - Multiple disks

Posted on by 110

Hi all,

We have an own environment for our company.

After deployment  of AX, we did observe that in Azure - Disk - about 16 disks were added.

I did result in a lot of storage cost as well.

Would AX deployment automatically add so many disks ? Because we did not create them manually.

Or is there any technical concept which we are missing in this case.

I have deleted all the disks now to save cost. But if the logic behind the disks could be explained, that would be of great help.

above are the screen shots of the disks that were created and were linked to the same VM and resource group.

On deleting the environment from LCS, all the related VM and all the disks got deleted.

Could you please explain the logic of these disks and how to manage their creation and maintenance.

Thanks a lot in advance for the suggestion and support.

Regards

Sriram

    Hi, Sriram

Those disk files are expected if you select managed disk when you deploy D365F&O environment.  And yes, those managed disk cost you all the times even VM is stopped.  You have option to unselect managed disk option before deployment, but performance will be downgraded.

    Hope it's clear for you.
