Restrict Incident Types to transfer data to work order

Posted on by 219

Hi,

We have several incident types with products/services specified.

What I'm trying to do is to migrate quite a lot of work orders (with products and services) from an external source. I need to somehow disable the default incident type functionality of copying products/services from incident type to work order level. Is this possible somehow out of the box? (We have such thing in case of incident type -> agreement)

Regards,

Arsen.

Thanks Arsen, after reading your post, I was able to fix my issue.

Since i was only getting this in UAT, we pulled up and compared all workflows in UAT and PROD that were triggered on CREATE, deactivated the different plugins and the error went away.

    Back in business! thanks.

I don't disable plugins. Only the workflow. And after that all the IOrganizationService.Create and Update calls from my migration script give me the error described above. If I turn the workflow back, the error disappears.

Dont think you need to disable the plugins. I think just disabling the workflow will do, although I might be wrong

Yes, that's what I tried to do. But after I deactivate that workflow, all the service.Create and service.Update messages on the work orders bring me this error. "The size necessary to buffer the XML content exceeded the buffer quota."

Not sure how can I resolve this error.

There is a workflow which is called 'Field Service - Copy incident items to Work Order'. You can disable this and I think that should solve your issue.
