Record share functionality broken

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 5

Today, users are reporting inability to share multiple records with a user or team.  Users can share a single record with a user or team, but not multiple at a time (*an error is displayed).  Users cannot unshare at all (*an error is displayed).  Sharing via the SDK is not working at all.  This appears to have begun very recently so may be tied to last update.

*Error message displayed (note misspelling is in error message as shown below): Unable to retieve links shared with users

    Hi CStone_Ben,

    I tested this on my side and it works fine.

    Since it couldn't be reproduced, you could raise a ticket to contact Microsoft.

    Hi,

    If you need to see detailed error details, then please click Ctrl+Shift+I on your browser to open Developer Tool then click on Network tab. Now perform the share/unshare operation then check the error details in network tab.

    I am suspecting there is something wrong with the security role and permission.

    Please mark my answer verified if this is helpful!

    Regards,

    Bipin Kumar

    I have a correction to my original statement, sharing via the SDK is still working after all.

    We opened a ticket with Microsoft and they reported back that this is a known issue that will be addressed this month (January 2022).

    Here is what the support agent replied with;

    "..This is a known issue, and the functionality is broken. Product Dev team is working for getting this fixed. As of now, Dev team has informed that bug will start to roll out tentatively from January. There is an active bug for this and the ETA as of now is by January. The fix is tentatively planned to start rolling out from January and the changes will be applied automatically to your environment after the respective build release. It should be a 12.1 train(MS internal), looks like the fix is given by 21st Jan, 2022. This bug is already fixed, just needs to be deployed..."
