Sales lead time

Hi,

I have a request from user to automatically set Requested ship date and Requested delivery date on Subscription sales orders.

For example, user has created a subscription sales order of 10000 qty and out of those which he is going to ship 20 qty every monday. He doesn't want to change requested ship date and requested delivery date on each subscription. Somehow he wants system to set up automatically once Invoice has been done.

User wants to set delivery dates daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly.

I was thinking to setup sales lead time for each sales order by storing it in different table. Which is a proper way to achieve this?

Thank you in advance.

Ragin

    Hi Ragin,

You may want to consider the Calendar and Working times functionality in DAX, especially for weekly schedules.

You can use Working time (WT) templates (in Basic > Setup > Calendar) to specify weekly working times - e.g. only on Mondays.

Then you can set up a new calendar (in Basic > Calendar form) and use the Working times button to create the apply the WT template to a certain period of time. You will get a calendar saying "only available on Mondays for 2009".

Then you can use this calendar as a default setting on a customer - in the Setup tab, Receipt calendar. It will give you default value for days available for receipt for all new sales orders for this customer for the default address.

You can also create alt. delivery addresses for a customer and link each one to a different calendar (in the Other tab).

Another option is to use the Mode of delivery - you can link it to a calendar (Transport calendar button).

For monthly, bi-weekly and other schedules you can modify the working time on a calendar manually but it will be time consuming.

I hope you can use some of these ideas.

    George
