Hi All,

Need help I am new to Dynamics AX and for the learning purpose I am installing the Dynamics AX 2012 R3 but in the check list when I clicked the Compile Application the window gets hang and its never gets completed I also leaved the server as it is for 3 days so that compile step gets completed but still window remains hang.

So kindly help how can I increase the AX client performance & can install it properly. I looked at many articles and according to them compile application might take 2-4 hrs depends on server. In my case I have all prerequisites on my one machine i.e. Sql server 2012, AOS service as well and I noticed my CPU and Memory usage remains low i.e. 10-20% so CPU and memory not seems to be cause of it (below are my system details)

Try to compile using the cmd:

Open the cmd and use the next commands:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\Server_Name\bin

axbuild.exe xppcompileall /s=01

/altbin=”C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics AX\6.0\Client\Bin”

This will open several cmd windows, let then run.

This is a easy and faster way to compile de AOT, and you can see the errors and warnings in the logs file.

Thanks for your response as well I tried compiling application from AX client 3-4 times and I have waited for 3-4 days but window still remains hang.

"The time depends on many factors.." Can you please let me know what various factors?

Isn't it there is a way to find out which things are affecting in my case because all of my required items are on one server and CPU and Physical Memory is also allocated enough.

you can find the logs: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Client\Log

Open the file with internet explorer, and compile manually all the objects with an error, but not for the warnings.

And after that, do a full cil compile and sync data base.

Try to enable AOT´log, Tools\Options\Development\Compiler

Then you can look at that log to follow how far you are into the compilation.

Also keep a look at your Processor, it none of the AX exe files are doing anything, the compilation might have stopped for some reason.

Hi,

Thank You all of you finally I am able to install AX. I updated Auto close to False property for Microsoft Dynamics AX Database and after that AX is much responsive and able to complete compile step in 6 hours approx.

But can you please guide for update installing and I am browsing for same on internet and found that LCS is having some important role but I don't know about it so is there any .exe file or something that I can use for the updates?
