Hi,
We have recently installed a fresh Dynamics GP environment (Build 18.5.1635) to a new server, where operating server is WS 2019 & SQL Server 2016.
During creation of setups, we have found a strange issue, under Cards >> Payroll >> Employee, the employee class field is not appearing here.
Although Employee Class window exist and if we click under the area highlighted in the picture, it pops up the employee class window. but it is not shown here.
We also check settings under alternate/ modified reports settings, but no luck.
Any help in this regards.
With Regards.
Make sure you check out GP Power Tools. You are going to want it anyway.

Hum. Thanks David, perhaps it might works, let me install a new version with English-US language, then share the results.
We would not go with customization currently, rather bring this into notice to Microsoft using their idea platform.
Many thanks for your timely support and I feel this forum is still active with the experienced guys, like you.
Uninstall HR.
Re-install with Language English-US or English-Canada
Or create a customisation to bring the field back. Not sure if this has any negative side effects. I don't why it was disabled.
This would be very simple to write with GP Power Tools. A single trigger after the window opens can be used to show the fields again.
It would only take a few minutes to write.

Okay.
Basically, we have installed HR module and want to use it, however, the installed language in sot English-US, but it is Middle East.
So, what is suggested to have this field active, in current scenario.
Ok, so I have reviewed the source code on the window.
If you have the HR module installed and the installed language is not English-US or English-Canada, the system hides a number of fields, including Employee Class.
I suspect that you don't have HR installed on your other install.
FYI: Best Practice is not to install modules you are not planning to use.

Same results. Is this happening for latest release only.
As we have another instance, where we have upgraded from GP2016, this behavior is not there.
Try the original GP form, not Project.
yes, that dot indicates the form has been modified, I have changed few settings but it won't help us.
So I revert the original settings again. but no luck so far. below are images from original window.
The latest screenshot shows has a period/dot before the window name signifying that it is has been modified.
This has removed the Class ID field, prompt and lookup.
It is also possible that the modified window has marked another field as required. If the prompt for the field is not linked, it will not show as bold, red as per your required field display setting.
Try adjusting the Modified Alternate ID to go back to the original window.

David
Thanks for the reply David.
There is no customization, we just downloaded latest media from Microsoft, with a service pack released in Jan 2023. It is a brand new installation, no customization. no field level security is applied.
It was appeared after creating setups and try to entre employee information.
Even if we try to save information, after entering all basic required information. we get a message, as per below.
