Inbound ASN related issue in AX7

Posted on by 220

Hello All

After importing the XML file , it displays that the mappings are done correctly for all entities. But once I click Import Now, the import operation stays in execution status and the target status is Error but the staging status is showing ended. Please Help!

Yes, you need to just have the right data to import correctly. You can also find sample XML files for the same

Ask a developer to look at which piece of code is trying to use a null reference. Finding a solution is much easier if you know what's wrong.

What happens if you use "Copy to target" for the record in staging?

    Hi Sherwin,

Please elaborate. Can you provide more detailed information where you see this error? Probably share a screenshot? Did you use a standard entity or a custom?

    Hello Martin

I looked into the staging tables and there is no error except target status showing Not started.

I do have an error in the staging data as "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

It means that the data was successfully extracted from the XML file and put into staging tables, but it can't be successfully put into AX tables. It means that your data is in the right format, but it isn't semantically correct from the perspective of AX business logic. For example, a combination of some values may be invalid and it was detected by a validation on the target table.

Look at the data in staging to see which records failed and why.
