I am installing the zetadocs express for a demo purpose. It’s working fine on RTC. The factbox is not appearing on the NAV web client. Could anyone tell me what is the issue.

regards

Manoj

    Hello Manoj,

Can you confirm you have installed Zetadocs Express v6.1 (released on 20th May 2014) which supports the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 Web client?

Have you modified the page you are using with the NAV 2013 R2 web client following the instructions on this tech note: ZTN4275?

Please also confirm you have followed sections 3.3 & 3.4 in the Zetadocs Express Installation Guide?

I hope this helps, please let me know if the issue is ongoing.

    Kind regards,

    Hi David,

Thanks for your reply. The version is correct . The code modifier tool didn't add the code correctly. Now I added the code manually and am getting a different message while opening the page in web client.

"Failed to search for documents. Missing dependency. Please enable Windows Identity Foundation."

    Regards

    Manoj

    Hello Manoj,

    Sorry for delay in response.

The Zetadocs Express Interface Modification tool was updated on 3rd June 2014, and will now modify NAV 2013 R2 Windows Client pages for use with Zetadocs Express. However, if using the NAV 2013 R2 web client then it is necessary to follow manual modification steps detailed on ZTN4275.

Are you still getting the error you mentioned? If yes, please ensure you have followed all steps in sections 3.3 & 3.4 of the Zetadocs Express installation guide. If you still see the error please confirm how you are archiving documents (Zetadocs Archive Service or SharePoint)?

    Kind regards,

    Hi David,

I just finished the installation and everything works when I run the NAV Windows client on Azure in the RDP environment. But as soon I run it locally using the NAV that was installed with the ClickOnce deployment, I get the same error:

"Failed to search for documents. Missing dependency. Please enable Windows Identity Foundation."

We are not using Webclient, so I did not do 3.3 from the manual. Should this be done anyway, even when using Windowsclient?

    Best regards,

    Felix

    Hi Felix,

Where are you archiving documents too (SharePoint or Zetadocs Archive)? If SharePoint, which version and is it on-premise?

    Kind regards,

    Hi David,

It is Sharepoint and we are using Office 365.

    Any update on this?

    Hello Felix,

When using Zetadocs Express in NAV 2013 R2 Windows Client deployed using ClickOnce, you are essentially using the Zetadocs Express web client. Please enable Windows Identity Foundation on the NAV service tier and follow steps in section 3.3 of the guide and try again.

    Kind regards,

    Hi David,

After enabling the Windows Identity Foundation, it seems to be working. But there is no drag&drop functionality and the design of the add-in is also not that user friendly.

To be honest that is a bit disappointing, especially after waiting so long time for the support and considering that it is not the Web Client, it is still a Windows client. Are there any plans to improve that?

    Best regards,

    Felix

    Hi David,

In addition, it is way too slow. It makes scrolling and searching for data almost impossible and it does not allow deleting documents. Furthermore, when I try to open a document, it connects to Sharepoint, so it does not open it directly?

    Best regards,

    Felix
