Disable export to Excel

Posted on by 23

Due to the sensitivity of the information in our CRM database, we have always only allowed a selected few to have the ability to export records to Excel.  However, it seems lately that everyone is able to do so.  I checked the security setting and no one has the "Export to Excel" option turned on. Is there anywhere else I should check?

    Strange.

Both users are in same team or different?

And Please remove the same security from user who can see the  "Export to Excel" and Publish the changes.

After this, again assign the same security role and Publish.

I know this does not sound logical but please try.

    Thanks,

    Pradeep.

What I find really weird is that there are 2 users with exactly same security setting but one has the ability to export to Excel and the other doesn't.  The only difference is that the one that can't export to Excel was created about 2 weeks ago.

The security roles selected are identical for both.

    HI,

I tried the same and it is working on my end.

    Please check below suggestion:

    1. Check the number of roles assigned to users. There might be possibilities, you have removed the  "Export To Excel" option from one role but from another assigned role users are able to see the Export Button.

    2. User will be the part on some team. So, please check the security roles assigned to Teams. Because Security roles assigned to team will get applied to users of that team.

    Thanks,

    Pradeep.

Please mark this as VERIFIED if it helps.

Thanks.  I cleared the cache and it was the same.

The security setting has not changed but yet somehow it was bypassed.
