Assign roles to user groups in AX

Hi All,

In AX 2012 and Dynamics 365, we can assign different roles to AX users, but is it possible to assign roles to AX user groups ? I tried to find this option in D365, but can't see any option related to this.

    No, roles are linked to users, not to user groups.

    What you can do in AX 2012 is creating a user for an AD group, which in effect creates AX users for all AD users in the given AD group (but it's unrelated to AX user groups).

    Hi Baber,

    There is a workaround possible. You can setup automatic role assignment to include users. If you create a rule and join the User group table, you can achieve it. I'm going to do a MVP Monday session on June 19, 2017 related to this topic for the AXUG.
