You can delete all transactions of a legal entity: community.dynamics.com/.../delete-all-transaction-data-for-legal-entity-in-dynamics-365-fo

However a lot of the data in D365FO is in global tables, I don't know if that functionality removes them. But you could try to run this in all companies. I haven't used this functionality.

Do not use it in production environment!

I would also say that the recommended way to start from a clean slate would be to deploy a new empty environment, and use data packages to input the parameter and master data. But that requires that you have created such packages.

You could also copy database from a golden configuration environment, if you have such environment in place.

    Hello Nikolaos

i actually agree with you , because that functionality was not recommended by Microsoft in AX 2012 so i assume it is not recommended either in D365

thank you for the above, i am struggling with the data packages, as i am looking for the correct sequence for export and import the setup and configuration ,

i am following this link and using the default data templates in the data management but not everything gets imported

    docs.microsoft.com/.../data-entities-data-packages

do u have a straight forward document that i can use to copy the setup from one environment to another ? appreciate it

Unfortunately I don't have anything to show, but you can study the MS data packages in any dev/demo machine where Contoso data is used. You can find them in the file system of the machine.

If it's non prod environment you can use sysdatabadetransDelete . make sure you have database back up taken.

Just for your information global tables are not impacted by this utility.
