D365 Project Operations Licenses

Hi all,

hoping someone can clarify a licence query for me please.  For me the MSFT licence documentation is not 100% clear.

I have a customer with ~150 Finance licenses, ~120 SCM licenses and a number of Activity & Team Member licenses.  The customer has identified that they wish to use Project Operations and there may be some users who only need the Project Operations licenses.

For those who ONLY need the Project Operations functionality, does the customer need to purchase a minimum 20 x Project Operations licenses, OR, is the minimum seat count covered through the Finance & SCM licenses already in place?

The customer is on CSP.  I always took it that the minimum seat count could be Finance, SCM or Retail/commerce, but not a mixture (CSP only), but I've seen some blogs suggesting the Proj Ops licenses also need a 20 seat minimum.

Any guidance appreciated

thanks

    Hi Incremental,

When the customer is on CSP, then they also need a minimum of 20 seats for Project Operations as this is a separate license SKU.

    Hi André Arnaud de Calavon,

    Thanks for your response.

My apologies if I was not clear in my original post.

By my counting I already have the minimum licence count with the ~150 Finance licenses and/or ~120 SCM licenses.

I guess my question is, (given the existing licenses already in place) is there STILL a requirement to have a minimum 20 seats for Project Operations ??

    Many thanks

    Hi Incremental,

On the next page, you can read about the minimum seat requirements: www.microsoft.com/.../MPSA

With CSP, it is not possible to mix between the license SKUs. Then each SKU should meet the minimum 20 users.

When the customer is on e.g. MPSA agreements, then it is possible to mix and match to get the minimum of 20 users. Then also PO can be mxied with e.g. Finance and SCM.
