Hi Tony,
You can update this from lcs. For Options available, see link below:

You can pause update from LCS. However you can pause a maximum of three continuous updates at a time.
Read below link for more details.

Hello Tony,To add to what Sukrut said, you can always raise a request with Microsoft to re-schedule the Production environment auto-update to a later date. This can be done about thrice and the fourth time you are forced to upgrade. Just ensure that you have a copy of the production database restored into GOLD before upgrading the Production instance.

Has your question been answered by the feedback provided?
I have a question back to you :-)
Why is it that your customer does not want to have the auto update function active?
Best regards,
Ludwig
+1 Ludwig, Satish, Sukrut
disabling auto update forever would not help customer ROI of investing on D365FO/cloud
so many bug fixes, new features are added and are needed to keep your customer solution current
with pausing of updates technically, you can update 3 or 4 times a year and yet stay current
Hi Team,
My customer is from a Pharma industry and want's to disable upto updates post pausing it for 3 times.
Reason: they perform IQ (installation qualification) on systems for compliance purpose and every time the system updates, they need to re-do the IQ. hence they request us to cancel auto updates.
They might need to raise a risk and change request before manually updating the system.
Is there a way we could forcibly stop system from auto updates ?
Thank you !
Praveen
No, it's not normally possible. If you want an exception, you'll need to talk to Microsoft. Note that there are reasons why it works in this way and you would force Microsoft to support more versions, which is expensive for them and therefore they'll want to avoid it.
But I think that your client also need the ability to take updates a few times a year. For how long they'd like to ignore things like security hotfixes?
Thanks Martin,
I agree with you, they shouldn't be stopping an update, that said, i can inform them to consider the email they receive from Microsoft for scheduled update and respond to that by creating a Risk and Change Request on their QMS, either re schedule the update for a future date.
Hi Praveen,
Out of the 8 updates each year, the customer can pause 3 updates sequentially which means that they have to update at least two times a year.
