The error:

Hi All, I am attempting to dispose of 38 fixed assets with a disposal - scrap entry. I can't post a scrap disposal entry due to the error above. I checked every asset I am disposing of, and their status is either "open" or "closed" in the "balance" section of the fixed asset. None of them say status "scrapped" like the error message is saying. To my knowledge these assets have not been disposed/scrapped, so I'm confused with why the system is generating that error. The assets still contain a balance in the fixed asset report, so I really don't think they are already scrapped.

Is there any way to troubleshoot the error to determine if the assets were scrapped previously? I just can't figure out why the system is generating the error. Thank you all.

All assets in my entry are either "open" or "closed" in the balance status section of fixed assets in D365. An example is shown here:

Hi Peter,

Unfortunately, I haven't encountered this error and can't search for relevant error message.

Maybe this MS Doc have some useful information.

Hi,

You shouldn't encounter this error message unless they are not scrapped.

What are the ways that I can check if an asset is already scrapped? I don't believe they are scrapped. Their status is either "open" or "closed" in the "balance" section of the fixed asset

Hi

Agree that the message do not match the status on the book. It might be that the status on the fixed asset has a wrong status. Suggest that you validate status by looking at the transactions and ensure there are no "disposal scrap" transactions.

ERROR: Fixed asset with status Scrapped cannot have transaction type Disposal - scrap.

Please check if the same fixed asset code has been entered more than once in the same Journal batch number.
