NAV 2016 and 2017 Print Preview no longer works on my newly upgraded Windows 10 machine.
BACKGROUND:
My development machine was recently upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Enterprise. Before the upgrade, I had NAV 2009R2, NAV 2015, and NAV 2016 running on the same machine without problems. After the upgrade, I installed NAV 2017 (CU5) and upgraded NAV 2016 to CU19.
At this point, I noticed that NAV report Print Preview does not work for NAV 2016 and 2017, while print to a printer, PDF, etc. continues to work for all the reports I tried. The Print Preview window does not appear, but on the Windows Task Bar I can see that the NAV Print Preview window exists indefinitely with the Busy icon. No error message appears. (Smells like a registry problem.)
So far, I've tried...
- uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Report Viewer
- upgrading my SQL Server 2016 Express install to a full development version
I saw a thread on a topic related to Report Viewer and Windows 10 upgrade elsewhere, but I can't locate it again. I recall that the individual ended up rebuilding his system. Surely there's a better solution. Any suggestions?
