How to Sort the Description Column alphabetically in ascending order

Posted on by 215

Hi all,

I using the NAV 2013R2.

Now, I want to customize the report id 722 (Phys.Inventory List). I have add 2 options in this report which are Sort By No. and Sort By Description

2134.Capture2.PNG

Kindly refer to the description column, the order of the description is not sorted, now it only sort by item no.(which is default).

If I tick the sort By Description, it should sort the description column alphabetically in ascending order(a-z).

How i going to do it?Anything i have to set up in the report layout?

Btw i have try the ascending function, but it does not work.

IsAscending := ItemJnlLine.ASCENDING;

Can anyone guide me on the issue above.

Many Thanks here.

    You can also use Interactive sorting :

    In order to sort, you need to have Key related to it.

    So if you want to sort by Description, go to table Item Journal Line and create a new key for Description.

    And use the SETCURRENTKEY(Description) on the report.

    Based on your value you select, pass that to dataset and set the sorting on the RDLC side
