Adding attachments to workflow approved Purchase orders

Hi All,

I've noticed that once the Purchase order is approved by the workflow action, adding new attachment is not possible. Button is greyed out.

Once the PO is reset to Draft status the option is enabled.

I imagine this is by design to prevent users from tampering with the already review and approved document but I wonder whether there is some concealed parameter that would enable it?

Thank you for any leads.

Go to Organization Administration- Document Management – Active Document tables

    Activate the below forms

Table name - Purchase Orders- It will enable the document attachment from the Purchase Order forms

Table name- Purchase Order Lines- It will enable the document attachment from the Purchase Order lines

    The attachment will be enabled

    Hi Michal M,

    Thanks for the response.

However, we were discussing about feasibility of adding attachments in a document which was already approved. And as per default design in D365, only you can do that if the document is in 'Draft' state.

Appreciate if you kindly confirm and mark this thread as answered which could be helpful for all community members to find it useful.

    Best regards,

    Hello Ludwig and Sourav,

    thank you for your replies.

I will then try to use the auto-approval policy in the workflow design to make the process a bit less convoluted.

    Hello Michal M,

What you can do is reverting back to the draft mode, attach the document and then setup a batch job that is regularly auto-updating your PO's e.g. every 15 min.

Not sure if this would help in your case but this is something you can possibly test.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Michal M,

Yes it seems default design in D365 and no separate setups are available for this to keep this attachment enabled even after the document is approved. You can find same in any other approved document also.

    Best regards,
