Your question is too vague.  Do you have something specific you would like to do. Else the only answer to your question is get a laser printer & a scanner.

Our  requirement is to print the barcode lables from Nav

Two ways it can be done.

    1. Export the item code, barcode, etc to excel and print the barcodes through  3rd party barcode printing programs such as bar-tender etc.

2  it can be customized in Nav using barcode fonts.

What is the best pracitce on this?

You do not need to export anywhere from NAV, you can create barcode directly inside NAV.
Then you can utilize those printed out barcode label to automate some recordings.

    See this:

Between your choices of 1 & 2 - definately 1 is way too much work.

    I haven't used The Bartender in years..wow!

You can use barcode fonts on your reports and you can also create them using code or generate them as pictures from nav to use in your reports (labels).

As well as the links above - you can also go to Mibuso's download section here:

    www.mibuso.com/downloads.asp

on the left is a (Search) option - click it - enter barcode - hit enter.

You can see & read about some of the types avaliable to you.

We use the barcode generator.  Probably because it was the first one we found years & years ago.

It depends on what kind of bar code you need. Linear or 2D

Just small note: if you want to use barcode fonts, test them on NAV 2009 RTC -sometime (or mostly) the fonts are not working there. I recommend to use bitmaps, it is much more stable solution.

Does the above solution work for you?

There are many ways to print barcodes in NAV.  You may use as Bitmap or you can use the barcode fonts (which is very simple to implement).  I had been using barcode fonts and had been working very well.
