installing EP on AX 2012 R3 CU8 & Sharepoint 2013 SP1

Hello,

I don't see anything related to EP in virtual directory where i created site from Sharepoint. it's missing LAYOUT folder and other folders required for EP. It seems it's just a sharepoint site and not an EP one.

Below is the order in which i installed EP on AOS server. Database is on the different server.

1. Create Web application from Sharepoint central administration.  Sharepoint - 2630 where 2630 is the port.

2. Created site collection which i m able to access it at http://servername:2630/sites/DynamicsAX

3. Install EP from Dynamics AX setup file.

4. During Setup i unticked 'Create Web site' option and selected existing web Application and site

5. It said EP successfully installed.

6. Now i am trying to register the web site at AX  Administration-> Setup-> Enterprise portal -> Web sites

and it throws below error when i put internal URL and move the focus out of that field.

"Server was unable to process request. ---> Could not retrieve a valid Windows identity. ---> Access is denied."

What Am i missing here? What steps should i follow after EP installation. how would i get EP related folders in virtual directory?

Thanks,

    Hi.

First of all, you don't have yet an EP site created. If you did not check the Create EP site then it's normal that you don't have yet a usable EP site.

    You should either

    a) create the EP site using the AX setup installer and check the boxes with Create EP site;

    or

    b) from SP Central Administration go now (after installing the EP SP solution/templates) and create the site choosing as template the Dynamics AX EP site.

    Hi Lulian,

While creating site collection from Sharepoint, it has dropdown 'Select experience Version' which has 2013 and 2010 values.  It's only when I select 2010 it shows 'Dynamics EP' in template dropdown below it. For 2013  there is no option to select 'Dynamics EP' site and i believe it will create only sharepoint site.

    Thanks.

So if i want to create multiple EP site on the same server, do i need to run the Dynamics Setup file again and select 'Enterprise portal' which is already installed on previous EP site installation?

I also tried this installation order and it fails at then end.

    1. Create virtual directory from IIS.

    2. Install Enterprise portal from Dynamics AX Setup File.

    3. During installation, select web application that's created in step 1. and tick 'Create new Website' checkbox.

below is the setup error log for the same.

EP should be configured over SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise.. Or if you have SharePoint server 2013 you should create new site collection with SharePoint 2010 Experience version then you will be able to configure the EP, or install updates on SharePoint 2013 Server https://technet.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/dn169057.aspx

I would Suggest Create Dedicated Service Account for Claims to Windows Tokes Service which Runs in SharePoint Server, and give the following permissions:

    a)      Add the service account to the local Administrators Groups. (under SharePoint Server)

    b)      In local security policy (secpol.msc) under user rights assignment give the service account the following permissions:

                                             i.            Act as part of the operating system

ii.            Impersonate a client after authentication

iii.            Log on as a service

    5.     Open Central Administration.

    6.     Under Security->Configure Managed Service Accounts, Register the C2WTS service account as a managed account.

Configure C2WTS Service to use the service account you just created and restart the C2WTS.
