We have alot of e-mails that have been sent and I want to change their status to either Sent/Inactive/Archived so that it is easy for my team to auto-sort /old content/
Currently I can only choose; Draft, Ready to send, & ready to send, editing. Does anyone know if it is possible to add a status here? F.ex Inactive or Archived?

yes this is possible. You can customize the email status reason field:
Emails can only be send when the status reason is ready to send. And you need to add some kind of workflow that sets the field to archived or you add it to the email form so you can change the status manually.
