Security entry point permissions

Hello,

I am having an issue with my Security entry point permissions tool, I am trying to change access level on one of the menu items from a specific role but once I do the Recording, then find the specific menu item and then try to Apply entry point permissions none of the roles/duties/privileges come up bold so I dont know which privilege this Entry point/Menu item is in so I can't change the permissions.

This role does currently have access to this menu item so it means at least one of its privileges has to have access to it also. Is there any other way to find that out? Is the security tool broken for not showing the bold privileges? Is there anyway to get that functionality back?

Hi Mariam,

Can you share the exact example? Which role are you using and which menu item? Probably share a screenshot to clarify your question.

Hi Miriam,

Am I understanding it correctly that you want to know which privilege the meny item belongs to?

If that is the case I may have a solution you can try.

If I want to know what privilege meny item CustTableEdit belongs to, I can go to AOT --> Menu Items - Display and right-click on the menu item. From there I go to Add-Ins --> Security Tools --> View Related Security roles.

A new window will open and you can find which privilege(s), duty(duties) and also which role(s) that contains this menu item.

Depending on what object type your menu item is you will find it at AOT --> Menu Items --> DISPLAY - OUTPUT - ACTION.

Hello André and Lasse,

My issue was a little different, I have already changed the permissions so when I checked related security roles nothing would come up since the changes were already made. The solution I found to this issue was going into Test environment, since my work was done in the Dev environment, and looking up the related security roles there.
