Changing the search results when using A-Z along the bottom

Hi, is there a way to change the search results when you click on the A,B.C etc along the bottom of the leads view. We use the topic field to put the lead name in rather than the contact that has referred to the lead but when selecting "A" for example you only get leads where the name field begins with an "A". Is it possible to change this or does it search that field as that is the primary display field.

Which brings me on to my second questions, can you change this display name under the primary field set up screen or do you have to create a new entity from scratch to do this?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi louisa,

1.The direct way is go Settings > Customizations > Customize the system > Entities > Lead > Views to configure sorting.

(1)Open anyone view you need(foe example: My open Leads), if you want to all view can be changed, you need configure it for all views as following steps.

(2)Click Configure Sorting to open the Configure Sort Order dialog box, then select the column you want to sort--Topic in the 'Sort By' list.

(3)Select OK to close the Configure Sort Order dialog box, then save and publish all customizations.

    (4)Test.

When i select 'A' in my open leads view, it returns different results after configuring it.

2.Also, you can try to use filter the field using the funnel search, With the unified interface, you can click on a column heading and instantly choose to sort from A to Z (Oldest to Newest), or Z to A (Newest to Oldest). You’ll also have the option to add a filter to that column with no extra clicks.

    Hello Lousie,

    Please check this post: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/b/exploringdynamics365/posts/alphabetical-filtering-the-same-but-different

Regarding your second question, is not possible to change the display name of the primary field for a table that is already created. That is only possible when you are in the process of creating the table.

    Hope this helps you,
