Our client has been working with our system's team consultant to try to implement remote invoice approval via GP Workflows, using mobile phones. They already use the GP Workflow to approve/decline invoices, and they do so via email as well. However, they want to be able to do this from a mobile phone, when outside the VPN.
To maintain the highest level of security they need a server in the DMZ to act as a proxy between the Internet and their internal GP server. Our consultant stated the proxy has to be part of their internal domain for it to work properly. Joining the server to the domain is going to require them to open additional ports, which will expose their internal network to the Internet. That is a risk they don't want to take.
I am hoping someone has some ideas of how to setup the server in the DMZ without the need to join it to the domain, and I can pass that information onto our consultants to help. We did open a Microsoft case for this, but most of these requirements are out of scope for a case, so just hoping someone reading this may have some ideas.
Thanks!
Laura
