Hi All, i have the following problem that i'm unable to find a solution for.

We are using an external service outside of Microsoft products portfolio to send a Form Pro survey to our customers.

pastedimage1621421640839v1.png

<p>Dear valued customer,<br /><br />Thank you for contacting our support team &mdash; we'd love to hear how we did. This short survey regarding {{session.id}}&nbsp;will take less than 1 minute and can help improve our support. Please click on the link below to take the survey.</p>

<span style="background-color: #0db5ff;"><a class="es-button" style="mso-style-priority: 100 !important; text-decoration: none; -webkit-text-size-adjust: none; -ms-text-size-adjust: none; mso-line-height-rule: exactly; color: ; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, verdana, segoe, sans-serif; border-style: solid; border-color: #0DB5FF; border-width: 12px 25px; display: inline-block; background: #0DB5FF; border-radius: 0px; font-weight: bold; font-style: normal; line-height: 17px; width: auto; text-align: center;" href="ecv.microsoft.com/cVJZ833dUY?customer={{ticket.requester.email}}&ticket={{ticket.id}}" target="_blank">Start survey</a></span>

We've setup the external system to add a couple of parameters to the url when a user open the survey link.

This is how the link looks like: customervoice.microsoft.com/.../ResponsePage.aspxcustomer=kiril.radoslavov@gmail.com&ticket=119

However, when the survey is answered this variables are not in the survey response response url that i generated in CDS

This is how survey response URL looks like after it has been created a Survey Response record in CDS

msfp_surveyresponseurl": "https://customervoice.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePreviewPage.aspx?FormId=CgHpGkfg6Uqa9f8VZDLApoueT_zjKsBHvzPp7JD6nM9UQ0RHUk1IMzdESjJZWVgxTzExSDdBNVAwTS4u&ResponseId=20",

and context parameters

"msfp_embedcontextparameters": "{\"EmbedContextParameters\":{\"customer\":\"\",\"ticket\":\"\",\"First Name\":\"firstname\",\"Last Name\":\"lastname\",\"CaseNumber\":\"ticket\"}}",

Is there any way i can get or save in a hidden fields on the survey form these parameters from the URL (either Power Automate, or other method) so then i can associate them with the Survey Response records in our CDS

pastedimage1621421908199v2.png

I've tries using the Custom Link but that doesn't seems to solve this issues as the parameters remains blank even if i name them as the parameters from the URL (customer and ticket)

Any help is appriciated

Regards

Kiril

    Hi Kiril,

    I am guessing you want the variables with corresponding values to be stored on the survey form after the response is submitted ? Have you tried parsing the msfp_embedcontextparameters field to retrieve the values and use them ? Here is a blog article that helps Extracting Survey Variables From Forms Pro Survey Responses (meganvwalker.com)

    Let me know ?

    Thanks,

    Arjun

    Hi Arjun,

    as i mentioned early, the survey is not send from CRM or Customer Voice, or any Microsoft service so this variables are not visible initially, I've also posted the msfp_embedcontextparameters output.

    So this method is not working and it is being tested using the same article by Megan, unless I'm missing something

    Hi Kiril,

    If you are appending the survey URL with the survey variable using the ctx param, it should save the variables. Pls feel free to reachout to me at customervoice@microsoft.com to review your scenario and what is going on ?

    ncv.customervoice.microsoft.com/YYNAD&ctx={"First Name":"John","Last Name":"Doe"}

    Thanks,

    Arjun
