Playing with the inventory/purchasing UOMs and on order/moq settings in AX 2012. Is it possible to run MRP in the test environment? If so, how do I do that?

Yes.
Master planning can be run as any other process in a test environment, but it doesn't have Live data (unless you frequently update your test data) so results are only hypotheticals.
If you want to run MRP calculations: Go to master planning > Periodic > Master plan and execute it.
If you don't want to run a full MRP, but only for one item. I recommend going to the items net requirements and use the "Update" button in the action menu on the lines.

Yes, I'm seeing that items that were added in AX Production are not showing up in the testing environment. (I'm assuming that I need to run updates in the test environment to pull over new 'live' data?) First time AX user..
