Information in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Reporting

Hello,

Our company is considering moving to Dynamics 365 solution. We are evaluating the functionality of reporting throughout all the hubs under the Customer Engagement subscription model.

First, I just just like to verify the customer engagement subscription model includes this functionality.

Second, I would like to understand or receive guidance on where I could find additional information on how reporting works throughout all the hubs, including sales, business central, etc.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

Yes you can have reporting across hubs (Sales, Marketing, Field Service etc). I would recommend Power BI for interactive and rich reports and dashboards.

    Good luck with your evaluation!

If you mean by hubs the different modules of Dynamics then yes. All the data for all modules live in one data store called the Common Data model and that's what you report on.

Recommended to use Power BI for advance reporting or Interactive Dashboards for OOTB in CRM reports.

    Hi,

Just keep in mind while doing your research the following:

Don't rely on the Out of the box Dynamics Reporting functionality to make your final decision as it is very weak compared to other tools. Great reporting can be achieved using PowerBI or 3rd party tools that can connect to Dynamics. Currently, with the introduction of Power Platform, Power BI became one of the main pillars of that platform which means using Power BI with Dynamics means you are using the same platform and not using external tools.
