Customer Service Workspace - Javascript formContext

Hi all, I have recently been creating custom command bar buttons to run Javascript. In classic model driven apps you pass primaryControl as the parameter to your function from which you can get the fromContext and then get and set field values on the form. This does not work in the Customer Service Workspace, presumably a result its multi-tab functionality. Please let me know if you have an alternative.
