Line manager in the Workflow

Hi,

I'm having issues on setup workflow for Line manager approval.

I was trying to do like in this example:

https://daxing2012.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/using-the-managerial-hierarchy-option-in-workflows/

But here is different that it is possible to choose Start From "Requester".

In my case there is "Workflow originator". It is the same as "Requester"?

By the way WF is custom. When we use "Workflow originator" and submit WF, we get error:

I believe it will try to check manager for person who submited WF in this case?

Now I checked that position don't have assigned Worker.

This is how looks like configuration:

I think I got my answer. Thanks.

Hi, well the error message says that there is a problem with the hierarchy. Can you test in a demo system to create a purchase requisition with your user\employee as requester? Of your employee is included in the position hierarchy, things sound work even if the workflow is not a standard one. Best regards,

    Ludwig

Yes, I wrote it is Custom Workflow. But it is not mine. So I don't know the issue is on configuration or on code. But I believe I need to change something on the code.

    Hi,

I am not aware of a loan approval workflow. This must be something you developed yourself, right?

In this case I am not the right one who can help you with that but one of the technical community colleagues could help.

To make it easier for them to find your thread, would you be so kind and change the tags of the thread to ...SDK?

    Many thanks,

    Ludwig

It is for Loan approval, so I need to check person who is added to the Loan Line manager. How to make it possible in my case?

Where I should change in the code or somewhere else? The loan record have Personnel number as a field. Maybe I can use it?

But I think I would need to convert to RecId from HcmWorker.

    Hi Mantas Vyšniauskas,

The workflow originator is the one that hits the submit button and it is different from the requester, which can be specified at the purchase requisition line level.

If you selected originator in your workflow and started the workflow yourself then the employee linked to your user must be included in the position hierarchy that you can find in the Organisation & admin module.

This does not seem to be the case and you consequently get the stop / error message.

Can you verify that and update your employee's position assignment?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
