Retail Kit component substitution

Hello,

I have created a retail kit item. After creating the kit with 2 components and the relative quantities, I have sold the kit in POS. Sale is posted and in the same time a BOM journal is posted to increase the quantity of the Kit item with the sold quantity and decrease the components.

After a while I had the need to change a component in the kit. Using DMF I was able to change the component and its quantity.

When I sold this kit in the POS, the BOM journal that was created kept on decreasing the old component and not the updated one.

Is there a chance to keep using the same Kit item (for historical purposes) with the updated components?

How do I make sure that the BOM journal decreases the new component?

Thank you,

Irida

When updating the BOM component did you create a new version setting a from date for the new version then approve and activate it?

This would also require you to deactivate the old version and setting an end/to date that is less than the from date of the new version.

    Hello Mike,

the problem is that retail kits do not function like BOM items. In the kit you just specify the components and quantities and there is no way to make versions with validity dates like you can do with the BOM versions.
