Quick Create Case from Outlook Email

Posted on by 10

Hello Community,

When creating a Case using the Dynamics App for Outlook, the Case Title is auto populated with the email/appointment subject on the Quick Create form.

I do not want it to auto populate and would prefer the Case Title field to be blank on the Quick Create form.

How do I make this change?

Thanks!

    Hi Leah,

I did this and it still did not work.  But once I opened Power Apps and modified the app for Outlook default quick create form then it worked like a charm.

Thank you, my issue is resolved.

    Best,

    Rachel

    Hi EpisodeQueen,

After setting all customizations, you need close and reopen outlook to test again.

    Hi Leah,

Thanks for the response.  I tried your suggestion and unfortunately it is still populating the Case Title field from the email subject.

    Thanks

    Hi EpisodeQueen,

You can change form order of quick create form.

If you make the App for Outlook case quick create in the top, it will auto populate information from an Outlook item to the quick create form for the Case entity.

1.From your app, go to Settings > Advanced Settings.

2.Select Settings > Customizations and then select Customize the System.

3.Expand Entities and then select the Case entity.

4.Expand the entity and select Forms, then select Form Order and Quick Create Form Set.

5.Ensure that App for Outlook Case Quick Create form is not at the top of the list, then select OK.
