Production Report as finished

ReportReport
Posted on by

Suppose i have already enable the quarantine for the production, once the items that have already been report as finished, they will be moved to the "Quarantine warehouse" immediately.

If quarantine controller think these items don't meet the requirement, these items should be returned back to the production team. but the point is once they are report as finished, they will be in the physical inventory, is there a way remove them from physical inventory, and we ask the production team to report again ?

many thanks

    RE: Production Report as finished

Hi André.. What if I only want to report report ScrapQty to a production order

Example.. It is end of the month, the work order is for 10 PCS, Production reports 9 were OK and 1 SCRAP, then operator starts 1 more and was scrap too and starts another 1...

At this point, started qty is 12 and last one startedwas propduced OK. Production only report the OK but not the second scrap. Production order gets closed as there is no remind to finish.

On first day of next month QA wants to report the missing scrap. Not possible to open it as month period is closed.. I suggested them to create a new Production order report only Scrap and end the production Order.

That is not possible either becuase AX2009 asks for some RAF.

I read in some threads here about report Scrap and at least 1 RAF. Then "Write it off". Not sure about this procedure. What do you think?

    Hi Jianrui,

For different scenarios you have a different costing approach. I'm not familiar with your costing model, but this has also some impact.

If you use the error quantity, the production order will consume more material to create the required quantity. (in fact if you create a new production order you also need more material) The cost for the production order is then higher. If you are using a normal costing method like FIFO, the goods also have a higher cost price. If you are using e.g. standard cost, the goods will have a fixed cost price and the production order will have a variance in costing.

If you create a new production order and scrap the incorrect items afterwards from the inventory, the disposal will be posted to a profit and loss account.

    Hi Jianrui,

When you are going to report as finished, it is possible to also specify an Error quantity.

There are some options to do this:

    - First check and then report as finished you can then specify a good and error quantity.

    - Create a negative report as finished to get the items out of stock. Then produce correct products. Then you can also specify the Error quantity.

    - Scrap the items from the Quarantaine order and create a new production order

    - Use quality orders prior to the reported as finished step. So then it will not be posted to a quarantine order.

    Hi

    A few thoughts:

May I suggest you block the use of these product by using the disposition codes on the batch (if you are using the batch numbers).  In this manner users will not be able to use them is these are set to unavailable.  You can also move them (transfer) them to a "quarantine" warehouse in such manner that you will be able to monitor the quantity and their movements

You can then create a rework production order, where the production team can rework the items to a desirable quality level.  A production order can have a BOM to reflect the needs of rework per particular batch.  Eventually, when you RAF, then the items will be avialbale for use.  You will need to modify the batch disposition code on the batch before posting rework on the production orders for these items.  With reservation you will be able to reserve these for the production order as well (so no other user can make use of them until prodution team releases them following rework)

    Trust this helps

    Omar
