Budget register entries - can not have advanced financial dimensions rules

Hi All,

Hope you can help me out.

I am having an account structure rule (advanced rule structues under general ledger), where one dimension is added if another dimension is used.

The example is:

We sell a product from one location "Denmark". In Denmark we have several "sub localtions", that comes to use when "Denmark" is used.

The sublokation:

Aarhus

Copenhagen

Odense

They would only come to used in this example:

Financial account structure is:

1000-Denmark-Aarhus

If it where sweden the financial account structure is:

1000-Sweden

Now the issue is on the budgetting.

We would like to budget on the same level. But the advanced rule structure can not be seen in the "budget register entry".

We have done the budget in the "budget planning", where the advanced rule struture is used, but when we transfer to "budget register entries" we loose the addition dimension.

We need these addition financial dimension, as we would like to use them in our reporting and futher in the management reporter.

Can anyone help us out?

Hi Ryan & Ludwig,

Does the fix is available for D365 F&o, i am planed to route the dimension through advance rule. since we have scenario to control FA budget as well don't wanna other dimension getting posted in B/S. only way to achieve the requirement is through advance rule. however we have limitation in budget control.

Hi Anja,

Others are correct that this is a limitation today. For the Dynamics 365 for Operations release happing shortly, there will be a new feature to allow this. It is possible your developers can look at the functionality and do a customization based on the changes.

But I will ask our developer to look into MS for further information.

Hi Anja,

To my knowledge the advanced rule functionality is for AX2012 systems not supported to be fully used for budgeting purposes except through the budget planning rule structures you already use.

Recently some modifications have been made for AX7 Systems respectively will come out soon. Probably you can make use of them and ask you developers to downgrade. If you want to consider making use of this, talk to your MS support Team for more information.

If this is not an option, you might have to change your account structures - advanced rule structures if you want to register and control budgets for them.
