Hello,
we currently run Dynamics CRM 365 version 8.2 on premise with one server and 15 user. I have upgraded all the way from CRM 2013 to MS CRM 365 version 8.2 and have left this version for the last years.
If I understand correctly, Dynamics CRM 365 on premise is now called Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and the current version is 9.1.
Recently, I looked into the volume license portal (previous VLSC, now it is integrated in the Microsoft Admin Center platform) and saw that version 9 is listed under downloads. There is also CRM 2015 and 2016 as version listed. As I said, we bought CRM license as 2013 version. After the upgrades I expected that the license would only be valid for a maximum to version 8.x.
Does anyone know whether version 9.x is basically another free update of 8.2? Does this mean that we don't have to buy additional licenses for servers and users?
If you look in the license documents, there is nothing about a version in the description of the ordered item.
The only thing that makes me a bit suspicious is that the product keys say that no key is required for version 9 - but there is also no product key for 2015 and 2016. Is this more of an error in the view? Technically, I don't have any product key even for version 8.x because the VLSC portal is not accessible anymore. I have added my view as screenshots.
Thanks
Best regards
Burak
