Hello Expert,

In Business Central On-Prime version it is possible to set Date Format in date field for data export using configuration package

We want all date field data should export in YYYY/MM/DD

We have try to change system date format but is not working.

Is there any way to do it?

I have the same question (0)

Hi, Have you tried to change the Region? The date format in BC is related to the Region in My Settings.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hi Zhu Yun San,

    We have try this before

I have change Region to India (which has default Date Format DD-MM-YYYY)

On Business central pages date format update to DD-MM-YYYY but

We need same date format while export data using config package

Currently it is coming as YYYY-MM-DD

    Hello,

The core problem is that some decimals can be evaluated as dates and some cannot. That all depends on the current region and the format which has been applied by the person who entered the data.

The AL code is very hard to debug and does not perform very well as there are too many values -> string conversions. The suggestion as to refactor these patterns.

The OADateToDateTime function is also suboptimal as it will assign by doing Format + Eval which is very slow.

Again, this needs refactoring on our side and it is something we may invest into in a future release. It has not yet been prioritized. Currently it's too free and we will have too many issues where users enter data that contains type ambiguity (can be parsed as both decimal and date).

One mitigation could be to enforce the correct cell format in Excel and not allow text formats for columns containing any of these types.

    Thank you.,
