PROD modelstore backup is larger than BUILD modelstore - AX 2012

Posted on by 1,319
Hi All,

We have a below deployment process in AX2012:

1. Merge code from DEV to BUILD environment,
2. Create a modelstore from BUILD,
3. Take backup of PROD modelstore,
4. Apply the BUILD modelstore to PROD,

We have one deployment and we are able to see the PROD backup modelstore file is larger than the BUILD modelstore file , we are not able to find the cause.

Please advice us how we can check the cause for the PROD modelstore file larger compare to BUILD when BUILD is having the new code.

Regards,
Akbar

    Hi,
Here are some general recommendations: You can analyze the contents of a model store to see differences in models, tables, and other elements. Models can contain elements such as tables, classes, and forms. Check the PROD environment for unused or obsolete models that may result in larger sizes. And you can also try to view log information from both environments.
    Best Regards,
    Hana

    Hi Akbar,

We don't know the contents of both model stores. I would suggest that you compare the list with elements in both model stores to check if there are any objects missing. You can also deploy the model store to another test environment first running on a copy of the production database and perform tests if all is still working as intended.
