Extender Info in Excel Report

ReportReport

I've successfully built several smartlists containing data I've gathered using extender and it works great.  I'm now trying to publish some of this information to an excel report, but can't seem to get the extender fields to carry over.  Can someone point me in the right direction, or let me know if this is even possible?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Joe,

Did you add the Extender Data to the Smartlist using the Smartlist button from within Extender? If so you will need to create Extender Views and add those to your Excel Reports.

Might be something in your joins, Joe.  You might try making an Excel Report with *just* your Extender data, then add the rest of the report around it.

I normally add the Extender info like so:

Ah, I assumed you were using Excel Report Builder to make the file... not a safe assumption.

Without the above trick, Kirk is spot on with his recommendation of making a View and adding that elsewhere.

For a second I thought I was crazy and missed that menu option, but then I went to go check and nope - not an option for me!  I'm guessing its because we're running GP10, which I should have mentioned in my original post.

    Kirk,

Yes - I used the smarlist button from within extender.  Could you provide me with a bit more information about creating extender views?  Any references would be great - esp what tables to use.

    Thanks!

    Joe,

Here is a link to an excellent post by Victoria Yudin that explains how to create extender views.

Let me know if you have more questions.

hmm, when I pull up extender "views" isn't one of the available Extender Object types.  I'm thinking its because that may have been added in SP3, which is what Victoria was using in the example.  We're on SP2.  I just posted over on her site, hopefully she'll know.  I'll be pretty bummed if we don't have this functionality - can't wait to upgrade to GP2013!

Actually, Joe, the VIEWS option won't even show up if you aren't logged in as SA.  The service pack shouldn't matter here.  Good luck!

Thanks David - Victoria pointed that out to me pretty quickly.  I'm trying to get this done before I head out of town for a week and it seems like I've forgotten how to read! She even says to log in as "SA" yet I made the poor assumption that as a power user I'd have all the rights I need (despite that fact that I have to log in as SA to publish the report).

Thanks again for all your help.
