Role Center ? My Job Queue: No scheduled report is done

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

In the Role Center page of Navision within the My Job Queue part (you can add it through the upper left downward arrow → Customize → Customize This Page) I schedule(ed) a couple of reports by hitting the Schedule a Report button and filling in some fields, among which the Earliest Start Date/Time set to an earlier (date and) time than now and the Expiration Date/Time set at a later time than now, and choosing the reports themselves among those available in the Objetcs.

But I get no reports done.

That is none of them changes its Status to Finished, nor of course anything shows in the Report Inbox part of the Role Center page, just a little above the My Job Queue part.

And I also hit the Restart button (either in the My Job Queue part or in the Edit - Job Queue Entry Card window) but no report is processed in the job queue.

Could you give me any hint, tip, whatever for me to understand what I haven't set, maybe because I'm not even aware of (and therefore I don't even mention in this question) ?

As always, thanks and thanks again for your suggestions, advice, viewpoints, opinions

I'm looking foward to many of your answers.

You can schedule a report to run at a specific date and time. Scheduled reports are entered in the job queue and processed at the scheduled time, similar to other jobs. You can choose to save the processed report to a file, such as an Excel, Word, or PDF, print it to a selected printer, or process the report only. If you choose to save the report to a file, then the processed report is sent to the Report Inbox, where you can view it.

Obviously, you need to have a Job Queue running.

Stefano, yes, I underdstood all of this and I tried to have a couple of reports done exactly like I wrote and you wrote too, but I didn't get any, so what I'm asking is why, after doing exactly what I or you wrote, I didn't get any report.

Because the problem could be NAS-related (job queue). Is it working correctly? Is the NAS properly configured? Please check.

Here a step by step guide on how to configure NAS:

    Thank you so much Stefano.

The document helped me understand right what I thought wrong: I thought the job queues were always running, while they must be started manually for you to see your schedule job/report done at once.

Great ! Thank you very much again Stefano.
